The main objective of the project on International Migration Estimation and Correction of the Population Estimates Production is to examine a large number of sources of data on international emigration and immigration, in order to try to obtain data that would enable evaluation of annual net migration for Serbia.

After that, the aim is to include migration balance, obtained in the first phase, in the calculation of population projections and to project population number after the beginning of the projection interval, by setting the hypotheses on fertility, mortality and migration flows, based on administrative sources of data on births and deaths, estimated migration balance and the expected number of inhabitants for the year 2021, when the next population census in Serbia will be carried out.
