Poverty Projections for Older Persons - The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukrainian crisis on the poverty of older persons in the Republic of Serbia have been prepared with UNFPA support under the UN Joint Programme “Extending Social Protection to families in Serbia with enhanced shock-responsiveness”. The Programme focuses on catalysing the strengthened shock-responsive social protection system to mitigate the socio-economic impacts of the consecutive crisis that hit the country – such as COVID-19 and Ukraine crisis.

The Programme supports the Government of the Republic of Serbia towards introducing shock-sensitive social protection measures in national legislation that will allow for swift transition to a strengthened social protection system in the country capable of responding to the current and in the event of future shocks.

The Programme is implemented by UNICEF, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) with the participation of the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR).
