Research on Men and Gender Equality- IMAGES Serbia

Report outlines results from the International Men and Gender Equality Survey (IMAGES), the most comprehensive survey carried out to date on men’s attitudes and practices on a wide variety of topics related to gender equality – as well as women’s opinions and reports of their own experiences. IMAGES studies were launched in 2008 by Promundo and the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) and so far it has been has been applied in more than 20 countries and territories in the world.

The Survey was conducted with the aim of collecting information necessary for identifying and understanding the problems encountered on a daily basis by working parents trying to balance their work and family obligations, as well as by their employers.
Views of employers and employees are of particular importance for identifying the effects of the existing legal provisions and for designing new policies and measures in the area of labor and population policy that will improve the family support system.

Evaluation of Implementation of the National Strategy on Ageing of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, 2006-2007 and Proposals for the New Strategic Framework

The process of evaluation of the National Strategy on Ageing 2006-2015 (hereinafter NSA) began by organizing four round tables where more than 120 participants. Representatives of academia and professional public, as well as practitioners from public, civil and private sectors in the fields of social protection, healthcare, education, employment and judiciary, both from the local and the national levels, discussed the current experiences and challenges in the Strategy implementation, examined difficulties and obstacles in achieving certain goals and objectives, and issued recommendations for improvement of further strategic planning in the area of ageing.

Well kept family secret- elder abuse

Publication

The objective of the research was to collect the data on the frequency of elder abuse in Serbia, as well as data on different types of elder abuse. The results of the project were also used to provide intervention recommendations for the decision makers in order to ensure improvement of the status of older people and deprecation of elder abuse in Serbia.

Research was conducted by the Commissioner for Protection of Equality and Red Cross of Serbia with UNFPA support.
